Affectionate Time(2005)

Affectionate Time is a Japanese drama series set in a small coffee shop on Hokkaido's snowy island. Yukichi Wakui, a 57-year-old former executive at a prestigious trading company, abandons his successful career after his wife Megumi dies in a car accident. The tragedy carries an added weight: their 18-year-old son Takuro was driving. Seeking refuge and redemption, Yukichi relocates to Megumi's hometown of Furano and opens a modest café called The Forest Clock. There, among the quiet rhythms of small-town life, he begins to rebuild himself and navigate the fractured bonds with his son. The series explores grief, forgiveness, and the slow healing that unfolds over shared moments and warm cups of coffee.
