No one knows about her mental health struggles or her fraught relationship with her body. The series balances raw emotional honesty with dark humour as Rae navigates the gap between her internal pain and the carefree teenage life her friends assume she's living. Grounded in 90s nostalgia, the show captures the messy reality of adolescence, friendship, and learning to accept yourself.
