Jamaica Inn(2014)

Jamaica Inn is a period drama set in 1820 on the windswept Cornish moors. Young Mary arrives at her aunt's isolated inn after her mother's death, expecting refuge with the carefree woman she remembers. Instead, she finds Aunt Patience broken and submissive to her tyrannical husband Joss. The inn's locked rooms and absence of guests soon reveal a darker purpose: Joss runs a ruthless smuggling operation from Jamaica Inn, using it as the nerve centre of his criminal enterprise. As Mary uncovers the truth, she must navigate the dangerous world of contraband trade and her aunt's tragic entrapment, all while the moors themselves seem to conspire against her escape.
