Brian Conley: This Way Up(1989)

Brian Conley: This Way Up is a British sketch comedy series that aired on ITV from May 1989 to June 1990. The show introduced two of Conley's most enduring characters: the hapless Nick Frisbee and the lovable Larry the Loafer. Running for two series, This Way Up established Conley as a fresh comedic talent, earning him the "Most Promising Artiste" award at the 1991 Variety Club Awards. Though less commercially successful than his later vehicle The Brian Conley Show, This Way Up proved instrumental in launching Conley's career. The final episode ended with Conley's promise to return, though a third series never materialized. Instead, The Brian Conley Show debuted the following year. During the late 1990s, the series found new audiences through repeats on satellite channel Granada Plus.
