Testimony of N is a Japanese mystery series that unravels a decade-old murder case through competing versions of the truth. When four university students stumble upon the Noguchi couple's murder scene, Nishizaki Masato confesses and receives a ten-year prison sentence. Years later, retired detective Takano Shigeru grows suspicious of the conviction and reopens the investigation, convinced the real story began fifteen years earlier on an island in the Seto Inland Sea. As Takano digs deeper, he discovers a tangled web of secrets connecting the four students—each with their own motive, their own testimony, their own reason for silence. The series explores how memory, loyalty, and self-preservation can obscure justice, asking whether the truth can ever truly be known when everyone has something to hide.
