La Dame de Monsoreau(1971)

La Dame de Monsoreau is a period drama set in Renaissance France, following Diane of Meridor, a young woman whose coming-out ball becomes the catalyst for her tragic fate. When the Duke of Anjou attempts to seduce her at the ball, the older Count of Monsoreau seizes the opportunity to advance his own possessive designs. He falsely tells her father that the Duke has compromised Diane's honor, then offers marriage as the only remedy.
