Sweetness in the Salt(2009)

Sweetness in the Salt is a period drama following an anti-smuggling officer who infiltrates a smuggler's village under false pretenses. Nip Chi Yuen poses as a destitute scholar to gather intelligence on Tau's Fort, a notorious salt-smuggling stronghold. He grows close to Tau Sing Suet, daughter of the operation's leader, and genuine affection blooms between them. When a raid goes wrong, Suet is separated from Yuen and rescued by Wu Ting Hin, son of a rival salt merchant. Suet's world shatters when she discovers her parents executed and Yuen—now an official—publicly denouncing smuggling from the city tower. Her love transforms into bitter resentment as she realizes the man she cherished has become her family's enemy. Caught between loyalty and heartbreak, Suet must navigate conflicting allegiances in a world where duty and desire cannot coexist.
