Daddy Cool(2018)

Daddy Cool is a Hong Kong comedy series that follows Chung Ting-Kwok, a guerrilla fighter from the Second Sino-Japanese War who awakens from a seventy-year frozen sleep during a freak storm. Disoriented in 2018, he sets out to find his family, only to discover his descendants have become morally compromised. His son Ho Woh-Ping defrauds the welfare system while his grandson Ho Wing-Nin exploits feng shui to swindle people. Unable to reform them through words alone, Ting-Kwok becomes entangled in their schemes—from covering up a murder to battling over money—determined to save his family by any means necessary. The series blends fish-out-of-water comedy with family drama as a man from another era grapples with modern corruption and his own powerlessness.
