Sacred Lies is a dark drama series that reimagines the Grimm Brothers' classic tale The Handless Maiden through a modern lens. The story follows a handless teenager who escapes a cult only to land in juvenile detention, where she becomes the prime suspect in her cult leader's murder. Trapped between her traumatic past and present circumstances, she must navigate the suspicious eyes of authorities while grappling with fragmented memories of her time in the cult. Based on Stephanie Oakes' novel The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly, the series blends psychological tension with coming-of-age themes, exploring how trauma shapes identity and survival. As the investigation deepens, the line between victim and suspect blurs, forcing her to reclaim her agency in a system designed to contain her.
