Kumokiri Nizaemon(2013)

Kumokiri Nizaemon is a Japanese period drama set during the Kyoho era under Tokugawa Yoshimune. A legendary gang of thieves operates across Edo, the Tokaido, and the Kansai region, targeting only the wealthy and leaving no victims in their wake. Led by the cunning Kumokiri Nizaemon, the gang executes elaborate heists with precision and grace, appearing and vanishing like clouds and mist. When the beautiful Ochiyo is arranged to marry a wealthy dry goods merchant, the gang executes a two-year plan to infiltrate his household and steal a fortune hidden within the shop. Nizaemon commands a roster of highly skilled operatives, including the resourceful Ochiyo, the nimble Kichigoro, and several other notorious followers. The series chronicles their audacious robberies and the cat-and-mouse game between master thieves and those who pursue them.
