Monkey Trousers(2005)

Monkey Trousers is a British sketch comedy series that aired on ITV in 2005, bringing together an ensemble cast including Alistair McGowan, John Thomson, Ronni Ancona, Mackenzie Crook, Griff Rhys Jones, Neil Morrissey, Vic Reeves, Bob Mortimer, Marc Wootton and Steve Coogan. Directed by David Kerr and produced by Pett Productions (Reeves and Mortimer's company), the show delivers absurdist humour through recurring characters: the fearless but dim Croc Botherer, Roy the unsettling toy-shop owner, an incompetent estate agent who answers every question with "I don't know," a foul-mouthed chef, and the Geordie Astronauts. The series succeeded The All Star Comedy Show and ran for a single season before being released on DVD in July 2005. Though short-lived, Monkey Trousers showcased the distinctive comedic sensibilities of its creators and cast.
