Amorteamo(2015)

Amorteamo is a Brazilian series set in Recife at the turn of the twentieth century. Malvina, a merchant's daughter, is left at the altar by her lover Gabriel on their wedding day. Devastated, she takes her own life—but returns as a vengeful spirit, bringing the city's dead back with her. Initially, the residents welcome the resurrection of lost loved ones. They soon realize, however, that the dead's presence disrupts the natural order of life itself, forcing the living to confront the consequences of defying death. The series blends gothic romance with magical realism, exploring themes of love, loss, and the price of resurrection in a richly atmospheric colonial setting.
