Bombshell follows Jay, a queer transman navigating LA's gay dating scene through hookup apps and casual encounters. Young and single, Jay seeks fun and connection, but finds himself fielding invasive questions from cis men once the bedroom door closes. His chosen family anchors him: Selena, his gluten-intolerant best friend; Darlene, a Boston hairdresser who raised him; and Penis Mascot, a cartoon caped penis embodying his id. When Jay meets Joe, a genuinely kind man who's interested in a real relationship, he struggles to reciprocate. The series explores whether Jay can develop the self-respect needed to move beyond casual hookups and build something meaningful. Bombshell balances comedy and vulnerability as it charts one man's journey toward emotional maturity and authentic connection.
