Fast Forward(1989)

Fast Forward was Australia's most acclaimed sketch comedy series, running for 90 episodes from 1989 to 1992. Created and led by Steve Vizard, the show featured an ensemble cast including Jane Turner, Gina Riley, and Magda Szubanski, alongside satirical puppet characters the Rubbery Figures. The rapid-fire sketches and sharp political commentary made it the country's highest-rated and longest-running commercial sketch show of its era. Directed by Ted Emery, Fast Forward launched the careers of numerous Australian comedians and established the template for the follow-up series Full Frontal and Totally Full Frontal, which aired through the late 1990s and introduced audiences to performers like Eric Bana and Shaun Micallef. The show's creative team went on to form Artist Services, one of Australia's leading production companies.
