Mrs. Hope is a Portuguese series following an eighty-something widow living alone in Lisbon with her cat Baltazar. Charming and unconventional, she fills her days with ballroom dancing, aqua aerobics, and visits to the neighborhood chapel, where her irreverent remarks about departed friends lighten even the most solemn moments. Her son Artur, his wife Leonor, and their teenage son Rodrigo form her immediate family—though Rodrigo's wild streak keeps her on her toes. Her closest bonds are with Herminia and the bold Angolan woman Paulina, whose daughter Joyce she considers a goddaughter. Mrs. Hope refuses to fade quietly into old age, instead embracing life with humor, vitality, and a refusal to follow convention.
