Nightline(1980)

Nightline is a late-night news program broadcast by ABC that airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. Eastern Time, following Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Created by Roone Arledge, the show became a fixture of American television when Ted Koppel took over as anchor in March 1980, remaining in the role until his retirement in November 2005. The program originally ran 31 minutes before being trimmed to 25 minutes in 2011; it expanded to 30 minutes when it moved to its current time slot. Nightline's format has been adapted by networks worldwide. In 2002, TV Guide ranked the program 23rd among the 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time, cementing its place in broadcast journalism history.
