Summertide is a South African drama following Martin Field, a marine biologist and widowed father of two, who relocates to False Bay hoping to escape the trauma of his wife's death. He establishes a marine conservation trust to rebuild his life and find purpose in protecting the bay's ecosystem. But settling into his new community proves far more complicated than anticipated. As Martin navigates single parenthood, environmental challenges, and the weight of his unresolved grief, he discovers that running away from the past offers no real refuge. The series explores how personal tragedy and professional ambition intersect, and whether starting fresh can ever truly leave old wounds behind.
