Telematch(1970)

Telematch is a German television game show that aired from the 1970s until 1979, adapted from the French format Intervilles. Teams from two German towns (later five towns) competed in a series of timed games and races, with contestants wearing elaborate costumes designed to hinder their movement and increase difficulty. The show was produced by Transtel and dubbed into English, Hindi, Arabic, French, and Spanish, gaining international distribution across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. A total of 43 episodes were produced before the series ended. The format proved influential, inspiring Spain's El Gran Prix del Verano, which ran from 1995 to 2007. Telematch has experienced a resurgence in recent years, currently airing in Paraguay and India, where it maintains a strong viewership.
