This Man Dawson(1959)

This Man Dawson is a 1959–1960 syndicated drama series starring Keith Andes as Frank Dawson, a former Marine Corps colonel tasked with rooting out corruption in an American police department. The thirty-three half-hour episodes follow Dawson's efforts to clean up the force and restore integrity to the force. Inspired by the Universal Studios film Damn Citizen, in which Andes played a real-life Louisiana State Police superintendent, the series brings that same crusading spirit to the small screen. William Conrad, the iconic narrator of radio's Gunsmoke and later star of the CBS detective series Cannon, provides narration throughout. Filmed in black and white by Ziv Television, the series captures the gritty procedural drama of mid-century law enforcement reform.
