Which Side Are You On?

Wildside is an Australian police procedural that aired on ABC from 1997 to 1999, following the daily work of officers in inner Sydney. The one-hour episodes starred Rachael Blake, Tony Martin, Richard Carter, and Alex Dimitriades, with Mary Coustas joining the cast for the final ten episodes. Shot on location in Sydney, the series stood out for its naturalistic approach: ad-libbed dialogue and handheld camera work gave it an urgent, documentary-like feel. Wildside earned multiple Logie Awards, including Silver Logies for Blake and Martin's performances and Most Outstanding Miniseries in 1998. The show also received several Australian Film Institute Award nominations. ABC1 began rerunning the series in 2008.
