A Ray of Sunlight(2024)

A Ray of Sunlight is a South Korean drama about Okhee, a working-class diver whose quiet life fractures when her stepdaughter Eunyoung arrives unexpectedly. When Okhee's son Kyeongsik flees his creditors, he abandons his young son Junseo in their care and vanishes. Eunyoung intends a brief visit but becomes trapped by circumstance—Okhee's accident and the sudden presence of her young nephew force her to stay. As the two women begin sharing a home, tension simmers beneath their forced cohabitation. The film explores how strangers bound by family obligation navigate grief, responsibility, and the possibility of connection amid economic hardship and fractured relationships.
