Cheyenne is a Western film about a smooth-talking gambler given a chance to escape prison by going undercover. James Wylie must infiltrate the criminal underworld to identify the Poet, a cunning outlaw robbing bank stagecoaches and leaving taunting verses at each scene. While pursuing his quarry, Wylie sets his sights on Ann, the Poet's wife, who gradually warms to his charm. As romance blooms between them, the two form an unlikely partnership to track down the mysterious bandit. The film blends action, deception, and romance against the backdrop of the Old West, where nothing is quite as it seems and alliances shift with the stakes.
