Bodyguards and Assassins is a 1905-set action film following revolutionary leader Sun Yat-Sen as he arrives in Hong Kong to strategize with Tongmenghui members about overthrowing the Qing dynasty. When word spreads that assassins are closing in to eliminate him, a ragtag group of protectors must band together to shield him from danger. The film balances political intrigue with intense action sequences, exploring themes of sacrifice and loyalty as ordinary citizens risk everything to defend a man they believe will transform China. Tensions mount as the assassins draw near, forcing the bodyguards into a desperate final stand that tests their courage and commitment to the revolutionary cause.
