Stip & Pensil(2017)

Stip & Pensil is an Indonesian film about four students tasked with writing essays who decide to start a free school for street children. Rather than focus on education, the group prioritizes earning money over teaching and learning. The film explores themes of ambition, social responsibility, and the choices young people make when faced with opportunities to help their community. As the students navigate their conflicting motivations, tensions arise between their financial goals and the genuine needs of the children they've taken under their wing. This coming-of-age story examines how good intentions can be derailed by self-interest, and what happens when profit becomes more important than purpose.
