Second Life is a French mystery film that begins with Nicholas celebrating his 40th birthday at his country estate, surrounded by friends. That night, he drowns in his swimming pool under unclear circumstances. As police investigate the death, Nicholas's ghost experiences an alternate reality—the life he would have lived had he made a different choice a decade earlier. The film weaves between two parallel narratives: detectives working to solve the mystery and Nicholas exploring a second existence in which his past decisions unfolded differently.
