Con Game(2004)

Con Game is a Peruvian film set during the final days of President Fujimori's regime, when economic hardship forces ordinary citizens into morally questionable schemes. Rafo, a struggling filmmaker barely supporting his girlfriend Laura, crosses paths with a charismatic Spanish con artist who poses as a corporate executive. The stranger lures Rafo into an intricate scam involving a major phone company. As the con unfolds, Rafo finds himself caught between desperation and deception in a country teetering on political collapse. The film explores how poverty and instability can compromise integrity, trapping even well-meaning people in webs of fraud and manipulation.
