Anatolian Leopard(2022)

Anatolian Leopard is a Turkish film about two unlikely allies at the country's oldest zoo who conspire to hide the death of the zoo's prized Anatolian leopard. When the aging animal dies, a lonely manager and a neglected female officer fake its escape to prevent the zoo's privatization. Their deception spirals into an absurd, darkly comic charade that spirals beyond their control. Set in Turkey's grey and quiet capital, the film explores themes of institutional decay, desperation, and the persistence of loss. What begins as a simple cover-up becomes a meditation on how ordinary people bend rules to protect what matters—even when the cost keeps climbing. The leopard's ghost haunts the narrative long after its body is gone.
