Made in Romania is a behind-the-scenes comedy that follows a disillusioned producer who finally gets his chance to adapt a Victorian novel called The Tides of Reason. Desperate to escape years of low-budget genre work, he accepts financing from shadowy investors with one catch: the entire film must shoot in rural Romania to exploit a dubious tax scheme. Shot in documentary style, the production quickly descends into chaos as bizarre personalities, language barriers, and cultural clashes collide in the Romanian countryside. What begins as a dream project becomes a darkly comic nightmare, exposing the messy reality of runaway film production far from the safety of established studios. As the shoot spirals into hysteria, the gap between artistic ambition and financial compromise grows impossible to ignore.
