Creative Control(2016)
A story about virtually everything
Creative Control is a black-and-white indie drama about desire and obsession in the digital age. Advertising executive David enjoys a comfortable life with yoga instructor Juliette until he becomes fixated on Sophie, the girlfriend of his best friend Wim, a fashion photographer. When David lands a campaign for augmented reality glasses, he channels his infatuation into designing a virtual avatar of Sophie—blurring the line between fantasy and reality. As the project spirals, David's manufactured perfection threatens to destroy the real relationships around him. The film explores how technology enables us to curate impossible versions of desire, and the cost of choosing illusion over genuine connection. Shot in striking monochrome, Creative Control examines ambition, betrayal, and the hollowness lurking beneath Manhattan's polished surface.
