Monkey(2003)

Monkey is a surreal dark comedy about a man sent to Green Hockers Rehab Center for severe alcoholism. Forced to wear a live monkey around his neck as a symbol of his addiction, the primate carries weighted bags that are gradually removed as he progresses through treatment. His stay becomes increasingly nightmarish, haunted by grotesque visions and a mysterious disembodied figure that seems to control his fate. As Apartheid struggles against his compulsion to drink, he discovers the clinic operates under a sinister rule: residents can leave whenever they wish, but escape proves impossible. The film blends absurdist horror with dark humor, exploring addiction's inescapable grip through increasingly bizarre and disturbing imagery.
