Parallel Lines(2014)

Parallel Lines follows a repressed teenage geek whose mundane, controlled existence shifts when he discovers he's telepathic at a student conference. After picking up the thoughts of a rebellious adolescent with schizophrenia, he realizes his extraordinary ability—but the discovery comes with a price. A rogue scientist kidnaps him to conduct unethical experiments on young telepaths, forcing the geek to mature quickly and take charge. To survive and protect others like him, he must rely on his unlikely new friend and embrace the very rebellion he once feared. The film blends coming-of-age drama with sci-fi thriller elements as an ordinary teenager becomes an unexpected leader in extraordinary circumstances.
