Polygon(1977)

Polygon is a science fiction thriller about a Russian scientist who develops a mind-reading weapon for military generals on an isolated island. When the demonstration succeeds and the generals celebrate their new strategic advantage, they fail to grasp a critical problem: both the weapon and its creator possess independent will. As the scientist's true intentions surface, the generals discover they've unleashed something far more dangerous than they bargained for.
