Protest(2001)

Protest is a drama about honor, violence, and displacement in modern Iran. When Amir discovers his brother's fiancée is unfaithful, he kills her to protect his family's reputation. His fellow prisoners treat him as a hero for the act, and he serves 12 years with stoic acceptance. Upon release, however, Amir finds himself adrift in a transformed Iran that no longer aligns with the values that once defined him. The film explores the collision between traditional codes of honor and contemporary society, examining what happens when a man's sacrifice becomes obsolete.
