Rear Window(1954)
It only takes one witness to spoil the perfect crime.
Rear Window is a psychological thriller about a photographer confined to a wheelchair who begins surveying his neighbors through his apartment window during a sweltering summer. Bored and restless, he becomes obsessed with the private lives unfolding across the courtyard—until he witnesses something that convinces him one neighbor has murdered his wife. Unable to leave his apartment, the photographer must rely on his girlfriend and a skeptical detective to investigate his suspicions. As he digs deeper, the line between voyeurism and justice blurs, and his obsession puts everyone around him in danger. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, the film transforms a confined setting into a claustrophobic pressure cooker of paranoia and moral ambiguity.
