The Desire(2017)

The Desire is a Thai drama following Karnkaew, an ambitious young woman studying in Bangkok who sees sex work as her path to wealth and social advancement. Her best friend Chala works as a waitress, struggling to pay off debts, while Karnkaew juggles relationships with Gunchorn, a schoolteacher, and Arwut, her boss. Unwilling to settle for either man's modest means, Karnkaew abandons them both in pursuit of a wealthier lover who can provide the luxurious lifestyle she craves. The series explores themes of ambition, class mobility, and the moral compromises made in the search for financial security and status.
