Created by legendary writer Irna Phillips, the series followed the romantic entanglements and dramatic crises of its core cast across six years of weekday television. The show's writing team evolved throughout its run, with Phillips handing off duties to Jane and Ira Avery, followed by Don Ettlinger, James Lipton, and Ann Marcus.
