Cells at Work! CODE BLACK is an anime series that follows the microscopic battles waging inside a body ravaged by alcohol, smoking, and stress. Red Blood Cell AA2153 scrambles to deliver oxygen and remove carbon dioxide despite chronic understaffing and hazardous conditions. White Blood Cell U-1196 fights relentless waves of germs and viruses in life-or-death skirmishes. Together, these cellular workers struggle to maintain the body's health, uncertain whether their exhausting efforts will make any difference. Unlike its predecessor, CODE BLACK strips away the optimism to reveal the brutal, thankless reality of cellular labour—a darker exploration of how our bodies truly function under duress.
