The Hunger is a British-Canadian horror anthology series that aired from 1997 to 2000 across the Sci Fi Channel, The Movie Network, and Showtime. Created by Jeff Fazio, each standalone episode explores themes of obsession, desire, and self-destruction through a darkly erotic lens. Terence Stamp introduces the first season's tales, while David Bowie takes over hosting duties in the second. The stories blend supernatural and psychological horror—featuring vampires, cannibalism, poison, and seduction—with a provocative sensuality that defines the series' distinctive tone. Though it shares a title with the 1983 film The Hunger, the show has no connection to that movie and stands entirely on its own as an inventive exploration of dangerous appetites.
