Psych is a comedy series following Shawn Spencer, a con artist with an uncanny eye for detail who convinces Santa Barbara police he's a psychic detective. After being falsely accused of a crime he solved through observation alone, Shawn invents a fake psychic persona to stay out of trouble. He teams up with his reluctant best friend Burton Guster to run the scam, while his estranged father and the local police department become unwitting participants in the elaborate ruse. As cases pile up and the deception deepens, Shawn must balance his gift for reading people with the mounting pressure of maintaining his fraudulent cover. Witty banter and genuine detective work collide as the series explores whether Shawn can ever drop the act.
