The Bounder(1982)

The Bounder is a British sitcom that aired from 1982 to 1983. Peter Bowles stars as Howard Booth, a recently released convict trying to rebuild his life after two years inside. He moves in with his brother-in-law Trevor Mountjoy and Trevor's wife Mary, played by Rosalind Ayres, who departs after the first series. Isla Blair rounds out the cast as Laura Miles, an attractive widow living next door. Created by Eric Chappell and produced by Yorkshire Television, the comedy mines awkward situations from Howard's attempts to go straight while navigating small-town respectability and the complications of his living arrangement. The clash between his past and present circumstances drives the show's humor.
