Dangerfield(1995)
Dangerfield is a British drama series that follows a small-town doctor and police surgeon navigating crime and medicine in a tight-knit community. The show ran for six series between 1995 and 1999, initially starring Nigel Le Vaillant before Nigel Havers took over the lead role. The BBC ended the series in November 1999 when Havers announced his departure, believing the show couldn't survive a second lead change without losing credibility with viewers. Beyond its procedural framework, Dangerfield ventured into borderline fantasy territory with episodes like "Tricks," "Angel," and "Haunted," setting it apart from typical crime dramas of the era. The show became notable enough to attract parody, most memorably from sketch comedy series The Fast Show, which lampooned its trailers with a character called Monkfish.
