The Oregon Trail(1977)

The Oregon Trail is a 14-episode NBC western series following widower Evan Thorpe as he abandons his Illinois farm in 1842 to lead his family westward toward the Pacific Northwest. Rod Taylor stars as Thorpe, with Andrew Stevens, Tony Becker, and Gina Marie Smika as his three children. Along the wagon train route, fellow traveler Margaret Devlin (Darleen Carr) and frontier scout Luther Sprague (Charles Napier) become central to the family's journey. The series captures the hardships and dangers of nineteenth-century frontier life as the Thorpes navigate the treacherous trail.
