Niños Ricos, Pobres Padres is a Colombian telenovela that aired on Telemundo beginning in July 2009. The story follows Alejandra Paz, a seventeen-year-old girl whose mother Lucía, an undocumented immigrant, is deported from Miami to Bogotá. Forced to rebuild their lives with Lucía's reluctant sister Verónica, Alejandra enters a wealthy social circle marked by secrets and cruelty. On her first night out, she is assaulted at a party by Matías, a privileged teenager. Caught between two suitors—the charming Esteban and the devoted David—Alejandra navigates a treacherous world where money obscures truth and jealousy breeds betrayal. Lies spread by Isabela and Mónica threaten to tear Alejandra and Esteban apart, while Isabela's own pregnancy becomes a weapon in their emotional warfare. As class divides and personal ambition collide, Alejandra must decide where her heart truly belongs.
