Operation Barbarossa(1990)

Operation Barbarossa is a children's series based on Ivan Kušan's novel The Mysterious Boy. A boy wracked with guilt over his friend's drowning in the Sava river assumes the dead child's identity to conceal what happened. Recently arrived in Zagreb, the friend had just vanished—making the deception plausible. The boy then attempts an impossible balancing act: attending two different schools in morning and afternoon shifts to maintain his cover. The scheme spirals into increasingly dramatic situations as he juggles two separate lives. Kušan's protagonist Koko eventually unravels the mystery at the heart of this tale of grief, guilt, and desperation.
