The Coachman is a Syrian period drama set in the alleys of old Damascus, following Abdo, an honest horse-drawn carriage driver navigating a neighbourhood controlled by the ruthless Abu Hamza Al-Nashwati, who has stolen his dead brother's inheritance and consolidated power through intimidation. When Abdo falls for a girl and challenges the family's authority, his personal defiance ignites a larger conflict between ordinary decency and deeply entrenched corruption. Warm and character-driven, the film explores how one man's courage disrupts a system built on fear and greed, starring Bassem Yakhour and Salloum Haddad.
