Sharpe(1993)

Sharpe is a British drama series starring Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe, a fictional soldier navigating the Napoleonic Wars. Based on Bernard Cornwell's novels, the show follows Sharpe's military campaigns across Europe with a blend of historical action and character-driven storytelling. The original run spanned 1993 to 1997, filmed across Turkey, the Crimea, England, Spain and Portugal. A decade later, ITV and BBC America revived the series with Sharpe's Challenge, a two-part adventure set during Sharpe's time in India. This 2006 installment featured a grittier tone and higher violence than earlier episodes, expanding the scope of Sharpe's exploits beyond the Napoleonic theatre. Sean Bean reprised his iconic role, bringing continuity to the character across both eras of the beloved military drama.
