Oliver Twist(1962)
Oliver Twist is a period drama following a 9-year-old orphan whose simple request for more food at the workhouse sets him on a perilous journey through Victorian London. Escaping his brutal apprenticeship, Oliver encounters the Artful Dodger and falls under the influence of the criminal Fagin, drawn into a life of pickpocketing and theft. When the kind Mr. Brownlow offers Oliver shelter and a chance at redemption, the dangerous Bill Sikes—Fagin's ruthless associate—becomes determined to reclaim the boy. Oliver Twist explores themes of poverty, morality, and survival as the vulnerable child navigates between the worlds of crime and compassion, caught between those who would exploit him and those who might save him.
