Babydoll is a Russian historical drama set in 1911 that follows Sasha Meshcherskaya, a young graduate returning to her provincial hometown with ambitions to become an architect. Her family's wealth depends on her uncle Nikolai Shumilov, an arms factory owner, and her parents pressure her toward marriage. Desperate to escape the constraints of her narrow world, Sasha becomes entangled in a dangerous web of political intrigue, blackmail, and conspiracy. As she navigates cold-blooded murders and shadowy provocateurs, the idealistic young woman finds herself drawn deeper into a world of espionage and manipulation.
