Shooting Star(2024)

Shooting Star is a sports variety series that premiered on Coupang Play in November 2024, pitting retired soccer legends against players from lower leagues in competitive matches. The first season follows these former greats as they join eight K4 League teams in a fictional "Legend League" tournament. Teams finishing in the top three earn promotion to face higher-division opponents next season, while mid-table sides remain in place. Those ranked seventh through ninth drop down to lower leagues. Individual players with the lowest ratings each season face release and cannot return. The format blends nostalgia with genuine competition, letting aging icons test themselves against hungry younger talent while stakes remain real for both team advancement and personal survival in the league.
