Sumpor(2026)

Sumpor is a Serbian historical drama series set in 1882, when revolutionary Jelena Ilka Marković orchestrates a failed assassination attempt on King Milan Obrenović. Found dead in her cell shortly after conviction, her death is ruled a suicide. Seven years later, the discovery of two bodies—a young girl and the great-grandson of Prince Miloš—forces a struggling lawyer and Belgrade's Chief of Police to reopen the case. Their investigation unravels a dangerous web of political conspiracy and buried secrets that threatens to destabilize the Serbian state. The series weaves together personal ambition, state power, and historical reckoning as the characters confront truths that powerful forces have worked to suppress.
